Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-07-18

Threshold ("we", "our", "the app") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

What we collect

When you create a Threshold account and use the app, we store:

  • Profile information you provide during onboarding (name, training goal, weight, height, experience level, focus areas, equipment, weekly availability).
  • Training plan data generated by the app (blocks, sessions, prescriptions).
  • Session logs (what you actually did: sets, reps, weights, RPE, duration, notes).
  • Benchmark inputs (1RM lifts, mile time, row time, etc.).
  • Daily readiness check-ins, if enabled (sleep hours, sleep quality, soreness, energy, motivation).
  • Health and fitness data from Apple Health or Health Connect — only if you turn on Health sync, and only the categories listed under “Apple Health & Health Connect” below.
  • Authentication metadata (email address, sign-in timestamps).

We do not collect contacts, photos (other than ones you explicitly attach to logs), location, calendar, or microphone data.

Apple Health & Health Connect

Health sync is off until you turn it on, and you can turn it off at any time in Settings. When it is off we read nothing. Turning it off stops all reading immediately.

With your permission, Threshold reads these categories and nothing else:

  • Sleep — to pre-fill last night’s sleep hours on your morning check-in, so you confirm a measurement instead of guessing.
  • Heart rate variability and resting heart rate — to compare this morning against your own rolling baseline and adjust how hard today’s session should be.
  • Workouts / exercise sessions — so a workout you recorded elsewhere (for example on your watch) can count towards the session Threshold planned for you.
  • Heart rate — to work out how much of a finished session you actually spent in the intensity zone it prescribed.

Threshold also writes one thing back: when you finish a session in the app, it is added to Apple Health / Health Connect as a workout, so your training shows up alongside the rest of your health record. We write nothing else.

This data, and the figures we derive from it (such as your average and maximum heart rate for a session, your time in each zone, and your estimated threshold heart rate), is stored in your Threshold account on our servers so that your history survives reinstalling the app and is available on your other devices.

We never sell health data. We never use it for advertising or share it with advertisers. We do not use it to train machine-learning models. We share it with no third party beyond the infrastructure providers listed below that host your account. Deleting your account deletes it, as described under “Deleting your data”.

How we use it

  • To generate your personalized training plan and adapt it based on your inputs.
  • To display your history, benchmarks, and progress in-app.
  • To improve the app via aggregated, anonymized usage analytics.
  • To investigate crashes via anonymized crash reports.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers.

Third parties we use

  • Supabase (database + auth + storage) — stores your profile and training data.
  • Sentry / Rollbar (crash reporting) — receives anonymized stack traces when the app crashes.
  • Google Play Console (Android distribution + analytics) — receives aggregated install / usage metrics.
  • Apple App Store Connect (iOS distribution + analytics, once iOS ships) — same as above.

Retention

We keep your data as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time — see /delete-account.

Your rights

You can:

  • Export your data: email rootandrisebyjaspreet@gmail.com.
  • Correct your profile: edit in-app under Settings.
  • Delete your account and data: see /delete-account.

Beta signups

If you request early access, we collect your email and any optional details you provide (name, platform, sport, experience level) solely to contact you about the Threshold beta and to manage tester enrollment. We do not sell this data. Email rootandrisebyjaspreet@gmail.com to be removed.

Children

Threshold is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We will update the "Last updated" date above when this policy changes. Material changes will be announced in-app.
